Consisting of Charleston District equity court records in the case of "Catherine Nathans et al. v. William Harth et al.," a suit over Hollow Creek plantation, a timber tract in the forks of the Edisto River bequeathed by the estate of John Harth to heirs in South Carolina and England. Also including decretal order, 29 June 1846, by Chancellor Job Johnston, ordering sale of the property; statement reporting sale by Charleston master in equity James W. Gray, 15 January 1847, listing names of slaves and inventory of plantation utensils; certificate of Gray's signature as master in equity attested by Robert Q. Pinckney, secretary of state, and Charles D. Wake, British Consul, including embossed seals of the state and of the British consulate and engraved state seal with supporters and crest.
